K-Cinema: Midnight Runners (Sept. 12 & 26)

Ki-koon (Park Seo-joon) and Hee-yeol (Kang Ha-neul) aren't the best cadets in the police academy, but they become best friends despite very different personalities. When they witness a kidnapping on a night out, they report it to the authorities but are frustrated by a bureaucratic investigation that goes nowhere. As precious time wastes away, the two amateur investigators decide to take matters into their own hands in this exciting action-adventure.

Director Kim Joo-hwan won over audiences with Midnight Runners (2017) thanks to its combination of quirky yet moral leads and the enjoyable buddy film format, earning actor Park Seo-joon the Best New Actor prize at the Daejong Film Awards that year.
