ODYSSEY II (Opening Reception: Friday, August 2)

Join us for the opening of ODYSSEY II, an exhibition of works by Korean artists from the Paris-based Association des artistes SONAMOU that explores cross cultural contemporary art.

Association des artistes SONAMOU was launched in an old tank factory at Issy-les-Moulineaux near Paris, France by 25 local Korean artists in 1991. SONAMOU grew to 45 members from 21 different countries and hosted numerous shows highlighting the diversity of cross cultural contemporary artwork. Since the physical workshop’s closure in 2001, SONAMOU has existed as not only a group of artists but a contributor to cultural exchange between Europe and Korea. ODYSSEY II presents a collection of major work by celebrated SONAMOU artists, 12 years after ODYSSEY I was held in Washington DC.

ODYSSEY II features works by HAN Hong-Su, HAN Jung-Hi HONG Il-Hwa, JANG Young-Jin, KWUN Sun-Cheol, KIM Young-Hee, KIM Hyeon-Suk, LEE Bae, LEE Jong-Wang, MOON Min-Soon, NHO Chi-Wook,PARK In-Hyuk, PARK Woo-Jung, RYU Myoung Heui, SHIN Hyun-Duk, SHIN Hye-Jung, SOHN Sung-Duck, YOUN Hye-Sung, and Barbara YooSooja Han.
