Baltimore Korean Movie Series: Train to Busan

The Baltimore Korean Movie Series rolls on in April with the zombie thriller Train to Busan, part of the Korean Cultural Center Washington, D.C.'s regional outreach presenting free screenings of milestone films at Parkway Theatre in Baltimore, in partnership with the Maryland Film Festival.

In one of the most memorable and harrowing zombie horror-thrillers of the last decade, a group of terrified passengers fight their way through a country-wide viral outbreak while trapped on a suspicion-filled, blood-drenched bullet train to Busan. The southern resort city has managed to hold off the zombie hordes, or so everyone hopes – but it won’t matter if no one makes it there alive.

Train to Busan, directed by Yeon Sang-ho and starring Gong Yoo, Jung Yu-mi, and Ma Dong-seok, premiered at the 2016 Cannes Film Festival and later set box office records as the year's first Korean film to surpass 10 million theatergoers. The film also won major accolades, including for technical achievement at the Blue Dragon Film Awards and Best New Director at the BaekSang Arts Awards.

This film is nor rated. 118 minutes. In Korean with English subtitles.

Light Korean appetizers will be provided at 6:30 p.m. just before the film.
