Korean Film Festival DC 2019

The Korean Film Festival DC, among the largest showcases of Korean cinema in the United States, returns to its springtime home in 2019 with a diverse selection of recent releases, plus special guests! The festival kicks off May 10 and runs through July 1 at venues in and around DC.

Highlights include appearances by this year's celebrity guests, the husband-and-wife team of actress Moon So-ri and director Jang Joon-hwan. Catch them each after the screenings of their films The Running Actress (June 7 at 7 pm) and 1987: When the Day Comes (June 9 at 2 pm) respectively, both at the Freer Gallery's Meyer Auditorium. Also screening is the critically acclaimed Burning from legendary director Lee Chang-dong, starring Steve Yeun, at the Freer on May 18 at 2 pm.

Films are shown at the Freer Gallery of Art, AFI Silver Theatre, and the Korean Cultural Center Washington, D.C. See the full schedule below fore details (some screenings require RSVP or ticket purchase). Generous support for the festival is provided by the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism of the Republic of Korea.
